The Semillero of Epigenetics and lung cancer began work in September 2014 and is led by Dr. Adriana Rojas and Dr.Alejandra Cañas. This group's main function is to encourage students to take an interest in research. Specifically in the area related to epigenetics and lung cancer. The founding students of our research seed were: Natalia Aristizàbal, Viviana Chaparro, María Alejandra Pardo and Diana Carolina Vargas.
Today the nursery has 12 students of doctorate, masters and undergraduate in areas related to medicine and biological sciences.
The Research Semester performs two activities:
1. Periodic meetings every 15 days where scientific articles are discussed and topic reviews are made.
2. Laboratory activities framed in research mini-projects.
At present, the Research Seminar has two research proposals funded by the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and the San Ignacio University Hospital.
